Friday evening, April 21 at 6:30, NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) Eastside WA and Meaningful Movies in Kirkland are pleased to present a virtual screening of The Wisdom of Trauma, followed by a community panel discussion. Drug overdoses kill 81,000 in the USA annually. The autoimmune epidemic affects 24 million people in the USA. What is going on?
The Wisdom of Trauma is a deep dive into the origins of trauma, and how our society might be getting it completely wrong when we say a person is sick or injured or “bad”. Gabor Maté is a world renowned expert on trauma and leads the viewer through many sides of trauma. Through short segments with people from all walks of life and his own reflections, he shines a light on how trauma really affects them personally, affects their families and the greater society around them.
