Join us for Pride Sunday worship as we celebrate and affirm the LGBTQIA+ members of our community, and make a public statement of the care, love, and appreciation we have for each unique individual expressing their God-given identity.
The service will include a special address by Rev. Dr. Byron Harris of Vancouver Heights UMC.
First Church’s location at the end of the Pride Parade route (the corner of 2nd and Denny) makes it an ideal spot to share in the celebration. We hand out cookies, snacks, water, and Holy Communion to the community passing by on their way from the Parade to PrideFest at Seattle Center. The weather tends to be hot, and this is a wonderful way to join in the festivities in a supportive way. Lunch is provided for volunteers in Fellowship Hall following the service, and parking is free for worship attendees and volunteers at our garage on the corner of Denny Way and Warren Ave North. We need volunteers, cookies, and donations!

The Seattle Pride Parade is community-led, deeply rooted in activism, and unapologetically focused on LGBTQIA2S+ visibility. Every year, 300,000+ people gather in the streets, marching for joy, justice, and belonging.

Pride + Faith — all year long
Pride at First Church is more than one Sunday. Pride + Faith is a community at First Church that invites LGBTQIA+ people and allies to grow in faith and to serve the LGBTQ community in love, support, and action. We gather throughout the year for fellowship and friendship.
First Church is a proud member of the Reconciling Ministries Network. Every summer, on the last Sunday in June, we join other open and affirming churches across Seattle to celebrate Pride and Faith during the city’s annual Pride Parade.
