Church Council Chair Update: October

Church Council Chair Update: October

The Church Council met on October 6 to continue guiding the work of the church through these difficult times.

Together we are trying to balance direction from our Bishop and local authorities to make worship a safe and welcoming space. You can find more information from the Worship Committee here.

You may remember from previous reports that the garage revenue plummeted during the pandemic. The Council is working to manage the expenditure side of our cash flow and we’ve requested that, if you are able, you prepay your 2021 pledge to help us with the revenue side of our cash flow until the Climate Pledge Arena and Seattle Center begin having events. You have responded! Many of you have prepaid your pledge or sent in additional funds to pay the mortgage. If you haven’t already, your gifts will continue to be helpful to tide us over! Thank you for considering.

And we continue to find ways to serve, through Shared Breakfast (now serving over 200 meals per week), through Meaningful Movies (organized by our Church & Society/Social Justice Committee) exploring the faces of homelessness, through spiritual development classes on Sunday mornings and Monday evenings. Look for communication from these teams as they continue to plan our work together.
