An Update from the Worship Committee

An Update from the Worship Committee

On behalf of the First Church Worship Team, I am very happy to report that our Church Council approved, by unanimous vote, two proposals from the Worship Team at its November meeting. First, Church Council agreed to allow us to resume serving communion in the sanctuary during our weekly worship services beginning November 14. Church Council also approved a proposal to allow unmasked vocal soloists during worship, effective on the same date. Ensemble (i.e. the choir) and congregational singing will continue to not be allowed for the time being.

I frame this announcement as I have, in terms of “by permission of the Church Council,” in order to stress that these decisions are taken with great deliberation for the safety of all who are involved with worship experience at First Church. Church leadership has discerned that the time is right to resume these essential components of our worship life – and the Worship Team is delighted that we are finally able to do so. Please help us celebrate these changes by joining us in person for worship, if that is possible for you.
