Volunteer to help end hunger in Western Washington

Volunteer to help end hunger in Western Washington (Ages 10+)! Global Missions begins in our communities as we work with regional organizations that are committed to ending hunger and homelessness. As such, the Global Missions committee is setting up various volunteer service activities for each of you to participate. Isaiah 58:10 (NLT) tells us; “Feed the hungry, and help those in trouble. Then your light will shine out from the darkness, and the darkness around you will be bright as noon.”

We are seeking volunteers to help sort and pack food for two hours at the Food Lifeline Hunger Solutions Center Warehouse in South Seattle. Food Lifeline is dedicated to ending hunger in Western Washington. The nourishing food that volunteers help sort and pack gets delivered to over 350 food banks, shelters, and programs in Western Washington.

Opportunities will be available at different times in the week to provide something for everyone. We are setting up a small group of 4-6 volunteers for Wednesday morning, November 17th, from 9am – 11 am, led by Pastor Yvonne. Additionally, we are setting up a group of 10 volunteers for a 2-hour shift on Saturday 1/29/2022, from 9am-11am. Weekday evenings at the Warehouse or Sunday afternoons at the Food Bank Farm further North are also available.

Click on the link below to sign-up for one of the groups or to receive more info. Volunteer slots are limited, so don’t delay! Contact Pastor Yvonne, or the Global Missions Committee, with any questions.
