Looking Forward to Livestreamed Worship

Looking Forward to Livestreamed Worship

Dear First Church family,

When I was a youth, “choose your own adventure” storybooks were all the rage. You would read a story about exploring a secret cavern, then at the end of a page, it would say “to enter the secret cavern, turn to page 6. To skip it and keep going, turn to page 10.” You could read the same book several times and find different stories and experiences depending on your choices.

On Sunday, August 15th, we begin live-streaming our Sunday worship services. This new chapter in our pandemic-era Sunday services will be a bit like those “choose your own adventure” books. Each Sunday, you’ll have several different options for how to participate in worship:

  1. You can attend worship in person at 10:30am (masks required!)
  2. You can attend worship in person, but choose to sit a bit further from the speakers (all speakers will be fully vaccinated and will unmask for their parts)
  3. You can attend worship online via Youtube at 10:30am. Our service will be streamed live from the sanctuary (one of the pastors will be reading comments and prayer requests live!)
  4. If you are unable to join us for worship at 10:30am you can still be part of worship online by viewing the recording later in the day or week
  5. If you don’t have access to a screen to stream the worship service on, you can call 206-309-0765 after 2pm on Sundays to hear the worship service via phone.

Worship is for everyone: in person and at home, up front or closer to the back, vaccinated and unvaccinated (Please get your shot! Talk to me if you have questions about it!). Whatever your level of comfort, there’s a worship experience for you. This isn’t “hybrid” worship: it’s one worship service with multiple avenues to access it.

We are one church in many houses, united in worship and common ministry and missions. I’m so glad to be one of your pastors, and I’m in prayer for you and yours as we weather this season together.

Blessings,

~Pastor Jeremy
