Shared Breakfast is a long-standing tradition at First Church, offering a hot, nutritious breakfast every Sunday morning to those in need in our community. This ministry relies on a crew of volunteers to cook and serve the food to the guests at Shared Breakfast. It also relies on grants and donations to fund the purchase of food and supplies for Shared Breakfast. The Urban Outreach Committee, which sponsors Shared Breakfast, is looking for individuals who would like to support this important ministry from the comfort of their own home.
Opportunities to get involved
- Serve as the Volunteer Coordinator whose role is to recruit and schedule the volunteers that cook and serve Shared Breakfast. Generally involves about 2 hours per week. This position would work closely with the co-chairs of the Urban Outreach Committee.
2. Serve as a member of the Shared Breakfast Fundraising Committee which researches opportunities for grants or donations of food and then submits applications for these opportunities. Varies from week to week but generally about 2 hours per week. This position would work closely with the co-chairs of the Urban Outreach Committee. Looking for 2-3 volunteers to assist with this effort.
