Liberia:
This is a free virtual mission trip to Liberia in West Africa. Come and learn what the United Methodist Church is doing in Liberia. This is a free trip, but donations are accepted. The trip occurs over four Wednesday mornings in June; 6/23, 6/30, 7/7, & 7/14 at 7:00 am PST (10 am EST). Join others from across the country and from Liberia on this trip.
Mission U:
Each year, the United Methodist Women put together a transformative education program used throughout regions of the United Methodist Church. This year, our conference is hosting this as a free online event that includes worship, a spirituality study on finding peace in an anxious world, and an issues study on the criminalization of black girls in schools. There are also studies for youth and children’s leaders. It is a free three-day event from Th-Sat; 7/29-7/31.
Sierra Service Project Summer Program:
This is an intergenerational online service trip and learning opportunity for middle schoolers, high schoolers, and adults. The two topics are Indigenous Communities Today and Environmental & Housing Justice. There is a small cost for this week-long experience, with tiered pricing and scholarships available. Week-long sessions are available throughout July and partial participation is acceptable. First Church sent a mission team on a Sierra Service project two years ago.
