The 2027 Stewardship Campaign Is Underway

Stewardship

This past Sunday, we announced the start of the 2027 Stewardship Campaign. The theme for this year’s campaign comes from Psalm 23: “You prepare a table before me…my cup runneth over.”

Our goals for this year’s campaign are:

  • Grow the number of new giving units by 10% — we currently have 53 families or individuals who make a pledge, and another 18 who give regularly without a pledge.
  • Increase automatic giving (ACH, credit, or debit cards) from 49% to 54% of gifts, which helps reduce the time spent counting and depositing financial gifts.
  • Grow our total pledged giving from $329,000 to $350,000.

During the next three Sundays, several members of the congregation will share their perspectives on what drew them to First Church and what stewardship means to them. We invite you to also reflect on what drew you here, what keeps you coming back, and what stewardship means to you.

We recognize that this is a difficult time financially for many people in Seattle. But we are asking everyone to consider raising the amount they pledge for 2027 — and if you’re not currently giving, please consider making a pledge.

The Church Council and Administrative Board have set a goal of a balanced budget for 2027, and it will take all of us to reach the stewardship campaign goal of $350,000 to make that balanced budget possible.

We are asking everyone to either bring your pledge card to worship on or before Sunday, November 1 and place it in the offering plate, or send it back to the church by November 1. To date, the church has received 9 pledges totaling $58,660 — hurray!

As Rev. DJ’s stewardship campaign letter (which was mailed to everyone in the congregation last week) makes clear, your generosity this year has made many wonderful things possible — from nearly 6,000 meals served at Shared Breakfast, to vibrant Sunday morning worship with incredible music, to the Blaine Center, which provides critical services to veterans transitioning to permanent housing. We need your help to keep all of this great work going in 2027 — to keep the cup flowing, overflowing with abundance.

Thank you for your support!
