Mozart called the pipe organ the “King of Instruments,” and this July you can discover why in a special two-session class led by Elisabeth Ellis and Don Crawley. Whether you are a lifelong music lover or simply curious about how these massive, complex instruments work, this class offers a unique look behind the scenes.
The class features two sessions:
- Introductory Class: Sunday, July 19 at 9:00 a.m. in the First Church Sanctuary
- Paul Fritts Organ Shop Tour: Saturday, July 25, where you will see a hand-built pipe organ being prepared for shipment.
To get a taste of what makes these instruments so remarkable, you can listen to a PipeDreams episode featuring the Fritts organ at Pacific Lutheran University.
