Notice: Updates to Parking at First Church

Notice: Updates to Parking at First Church

First Church is excited about the opening of the Climate Pledge Arena, and the new traffic it will bring to the Seattle Center area. Along with the increased exposure to First Church’s mission and ministry that this traffic will bring, we are also hopeful that parking garage revenue will finally begin to increase again. In light of this, First Church will be changing our use of the parking garage for evening events.

Our parking management company (IPM) has requested to rent every space available in our garage for Kraken games and concerts at Climate Pledge Arena. For these events, there will be no exceptions given to church parking passes. If you want to park in the garage, you’ll be asked to pay the event pricing for the evening. If you have a quick item to drop off at church, or something to pick up, please use the driveway (entering on 2nd Avenue). Note that traffic will be high during pre and post game times.

For team and committee leaders, it would be a good idea to check the Climate Pledge Arena schedule before you schedule a First Church meeting in the evening. With parking scarce and traffic getting here difficult, we would recommend virtual meetings for those nights. If you must meet at church on event nights, please schedule to have parking spaces reserved for your team with Jay Lynch, our Property Manager.

Finally, if you do have a parking pass sticker, we are now moving away from stickers and towards license plate registrations. If you are a church member who attends meetings during the week or evenings, you can register your license plate here:

This will allow you to park in the garage during the week and on non-event nights for church-related activities.

Please remember that parking for church worship services is always free, and when you are at church during the week, you can park in P5 reserved spaces for church-related meetings and activities! We are so thankful for your foresight in building this parking resource and are attempting to be good stewards of it. Thank you for your understanding and for supporting First Church’s missions and ministries!
