Pipe Organ 101

Pipe Organ 101

July 19 & 25

Next: Saturday, July 25, 2026

Join Don Crawley, our resident organ enthusiast, for a three-part deep dive into the world of pipe organs. Part 1 meets in the First Church sanctuary for a hands-on introduction to how these instruments work. On July 25 we’ll caravan to Tacoma for a tour of the Paul Fritts organ shop (where master craftspeople build some of the finest organs in the country) followed by a demonstration of a Fritts organ at Lagerquist Hall on the PLU campus.

Pipe Organ 101 — Standby List (Parts 2 & 3 are full)

Part 1 (the introductory class, July 19) still has space. Parts 2 & 3 (the shop tour and Fritts organ demo on July 25) have reached capacity. You can sign up for a standby list for those — if a spot opens up, we'll let you know.
