On Saturday, October 24, friends from the Promotion of Church People’s Response (PCPR) and the International Coalition for Human Rights in the Philippines (ICHRP) are hosting a forum on faith and peace.
“Peace with Justice: A Faith Forum Connecting the Fight Against War, Militarism, and Forced Migration in the Philippines to Shared Struggles at Home and Abroad” gathers speakers and conversation around the peace and justice work communities of faith are engaged in today. Faith leaders from the Philippines movement for a just and lasting peace will share how militarism fuels forced migration and war, and how communities of faith are courageously building a just peace.
The discussion connects these struggles to the work many of us are already doing: ending the genocide in Palestine, migrant justice, homelessness, and land sovereignty. Together, participants will trace the root causes that link these movements and rally collective power to end human rights violations, forced migration, and war in the Philippines.
The forum runs 3–6 p.m. at Fairwood Community UMC. RSVP to let the organizers know you’re coming.
