Our theme for Advent is “Close to Home,” which will focus on the “already but not yet” tension of our faith: Emmanuel is with us, and yet, God’s promised day – our everlasting home – is not fully realized. For each Sunday in Advent, we invite you to celebrate with us:
Sunday, December 12th @ 10:30AM – “Music of Advent: Rejoicing, even as we wait”
Join us for a service of Advent choral and instrumental music as we reflect on searching and hoping for joy even while life is still uncertain and full of the unexpected. In-person & online.
Sunday, December 19 @ 10:30AM – Las Posadas Children’s Program
Las Posadas commemorates the journey that Joseph and Mary made from Nazareth to Bethlehem in search of a safe refuge where Mary could give birth to the baby Jesus. The First Church Children and Youth program will lead us through the telling of this story. In-person & online.
Monday, December 20th @ 7:00PM – Longest Night service
For many people the holiday season is one filled with loneliness and grief. In the midst of a season of light, the Longest Night Service honors the darkness that is also a part of life. This service can be a special gift to those outside our church family who are in need of comfort and support. In-person & online.
