Church and Society/Social Justice Committee is sponsoring a Postcard Writing Lunch and Learn Sunday, February 4th from 12noon – 1pm. The postcards were developed by Reclaim Our Vote (ROV LINK) and go to people who are having their voting access obstructed. ROV is a grassroots, mostly volunteer-run campaign that focuses on increasing BIPOC voter turnout through post-carding, texting, and phone banking. Presenting will be Megan Krampitz and Lisa Wyler, the two Washington State organizers for ROV. They will talk about the upcoming primary elections being targeted for the campaign and why they are important. They will also tell us about the other activities ROV does throughout the year to educate and support communities in their efforts to engage people in the political process. At the end they will explain the postcard format.
