The most authentic stories are told by folks who have lived the experience they are describing.
Our book club explores novels and memoirs written by people of color. These authors introduce us to their communities, customs, histories, and experiences while also educating and entertaining us through their literary art.
We meet via Zoom, at 7:00pm on the fourth Thursday of each month to discuss the books. In addition, there will be a mid-month email check-in with questions and “thinking prompts” to help us stay focused as we read. Sign up below to join the conversation!
Note: We decided to move our meetings to the third Thursday in November and December because of the holidays. We can go back to the last Thursday in January.
Upcoming Book Discussions:
November 17 – The Vanishing Half by Brit Bennett
December 15 – When Apricots Bloom by Gina Wilkinson.
January 26 – My Ad Could Go Here by Osakana Zabuzhko
Barbara Moreland will be the facilitator, and you may contact her for more information at bamwords@msn.com
