In March 2020, we gathered for worship on the first day of the month, no knowing it would be our last in-person worship service for almost 18 months. As the covid-19 pandemic swept into the Puget Sound area, Seattle became the first city in the nation to encourage closed church buildings.
This year, we will hold close to our hearts the ongoing tragedy of over 900,000 lives lost to COVID-19 over the past two years, including members of our community, and those we, or those close to us, hold dear.
This service is combined with our traditional Ash Wednesday service, a time when we pause to reflect on our own mortality, and the ephemeral nature of human life.
