What to Expect on Sundays

Here is a little bit of information about what you can expect at First Church on Sundays. If you have other questions please give us a call at 206-622-7278 or email office@firstchurchseattle.org.

What time is your Sunday worship service?

Worship is on Sundays at 10:30 a.m.

Where is First Church?

We’re located in Seattle’s Belltown neighborhood at 180 Denny Way, just across from the Pacific Science Center. If you are coming for worship, enter the building on 2nd Ave.

Do you have parking?

Yes! You’ll find free parking for church and church activities in our parking garage next to the church building. Park on Level P5 for a quick walk across the alley to the church. Enter the garage on Warren Avenue or in the alley in between the church and the garage. It’s also easy to catch a bus to First Church from most areas of Seattle.

What time should I arrive for worship?

We have coffee and treats in the church lobby starting around 10 a.m. People generally show up 10 or 15 minutes before the service starts.

When you arrive…

A greeter will be in the church lobby to answer any questions you might have. When you enter the church sanctuary an usher will hand you a bulletin that contains the order of worship. We will also play a slideshow during the service to help everyone follow along.

Our church building is wheelchair accessible. Elevator access is available to all floors inside the church and in the parking garage. Ask an usher if you’d like a large-print bulletin or hearing assistance device to use during worship.

What should I wear?

Whatever you wear, you will be welcome. Some people like to dress up a bit at First Church and others prefer to be casual. On any given Sunday you’ll see jeans, dress shirts, t-shirts, suits and dresses.

Do you have child care?

Yes — professional nursery care is available during worship and Sunday School for children three and under. During the worship service young children will be dismissed before the sermon for an adult-supervised activity we call “Discovery Time.” The ushers also have “Kids’ Worship Bags” available filled with quiet activities for small children to play with during the service.

Do you have Sunday School?

Yes! We have Sunday School classes for children and adults. Sunday School classes meet on the 3rd floor of our church building at 9 a.m. To get to the 3rd floor enter the church building on 2nd Avenue, turn right, walk halfway through the lobby, and head up the stairs.

Sunday School meets almost every week. We take a break on holiday weekends and during the summer.
