We will welcome guest panelists Seattle City Councilmember Sally Bagshaw, Rita Zawaideh, who has developed a refugee resettlement agency currently working on the Greek island of Lesbos with refugees from Syria, Michael Ramos, Executive Director of the Church Council of Greater Seattle, Gerri Haynes, former President of Washington Physicians for Social Responsibility who has led many medical trips into Gaza and the West Bank over the past two decades working with displaced Palestinians, and Jim McDermott, former US Representative.

The panel will include a discussion about urgent issues that we must address for the well-being of refugees and immigrants, how we can be most helpful for vulnerable people and communities in the Seattle area, and a Q&A.

This event is free and open to the public. Free parking is available in the First Church garage (150 Denny Way). First Church is located at 180 Denny Way in Seattle’s Belltown/Lower Queen Anne neighborhood (across from the Pacific Science Center). Enter the building for the forum on 2nd Ave.
