Good Lord, the Stories! A Tour of First Church History Gems
Did you know that for decades of the 20th century, First Church worship services were broadcast on the radio? That parallel histories of the church exist, one primarily written by the men of the congregation, the other by the women? That our United Methodist church archives include membership rolls and minutes written in German, records inherited from the Seattle’s Evangelical United Brethren (EUB) church when the two denominations merged? First Church was founded in 1853. Archives volunteers regularly come across fun facts and stories of the congregation’s at times tumultuous faith journey. Join us to hear some “greatest hits” of First Church’s 164-year existence in Seattle.
