Fifty Hours of Training Leads to Commissioning Ten Stephen Ministers

Sunday, March 10, at the 10:30 am service
Our congregation will participate in its inaugural commissioning of Stephen Ministers. They are dedicated and talented people who have been in training and now are ready to begin their caring ministry at First Church. Ann Scharf and Ed Hanson, our Stephen Leaders, ask you to join them in thanking God for our Stephen Ministers listed below and pray that God will bless their ministries. We also give thanks for their families who have supported them throughout their five months of training.

Joyce Frost             Barbara Moreland
Joe Frost                James Palmquist
Eron Huenefeld    Elizabeth Pratt
Kay McClaine        David Robson
David McNeal        Stephanie Scott

These lay persons will be in partnership with our pastor to provide Christ-like care for persons in our church community who suffer from some of life’s most difficult challenges. By so doing they fulfill a vital part of our congregation’s mission. After commissioning, each will be assigned to be in a caring relationship with people who are experiencing life crises such as divorce, loss of home or job, death of a loved one, or any of the crucial changes people may encounter in their lives. Their mission—Bring Christ-like Care to Hurting People.
Please come on Sunday, March 10; join in the celebration and show your support for this caring ministry and these gifted people who God has called and equipped for this  important role in our congregation.
