Writing Your Spiritual Autobiography

with Sue Sutherland-Hanson

Exploring and telling our stories feeds the soul and forms community.  We will “look at the past through the lens of adult experience, write about it from a holistic or spiritual perspective, and come to understand it differently in the process.”  (Dan Wakefield)  Adapting prompts from  Wakefield’s book The Story of Your Life- Writing a Spiritual Autobiography we will recall our childhood, adolescence, mentors, and influencing experiences. (No text is needed.)

Writing can be a spiritual tool used to bring all of your life into the light of grace often leading to transformation.  While we will be writing, this is not a writing class; a variety of levels and abilities are expected and welcome.

At the end of this day of exploring, writing, and sharing, participants will have enough material to create their 8-10 page (double space) autobiography. We will reconvene at a later date to share what always turns out be inspiring accounts of our lives.

When: Saturday, Janaury 28, 2012   9:00 a.m. to  4:00 p.m.

Where:  First United Methodist Church Seattle

Cost:  Session: $60.00
